1.2 Purpose


This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for the following project:
The current Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Equipment at Burnaby Hospital is 14 years old and failing. The MRI equipment is past useful life and in need to be refurbished. Refurbishing the equipment will enable the site to better support MRI needs, improve diagnostic capabilities, enhance patient experience and reduce frequency and duration of system failure.
The project is to upgrade and modification the existing spaces to accommodate a new refurbished MRI unit and support spaces. The MRI unit will be refurbished by GE and the existing magnet will always remain within the room during construction period. Other components will be removed and replaced.
The construction mobilization is anticipated for October / November 2026. And ready-for-takeover date is anticipated on April 30, 2027

Discipline: Mechanical Sub-Contractor
Qualification Range: Acute Care Projects, greater than $100,000
***Note: Mechanical Contractor must bid through Bid Depository (BOBS)

Qualification Range: Acute Care Projects, greater than $100,000
***Note: Electrical Contractor must bid through Bid Depository (BOBS)

A.5. Use of Bid Depository


Use of the BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors (BOBS) is required.
