1. Project Scope: 

The Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) project is designed to improve the safety, quality, and consistency of patient care across Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care. To support the CST project, infrastructure upgrades are required which includes permanent cooling solutions for communication closets. At the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Campus, there are 39 communication closets that require permanent cooling solutions as part of this tender.

Bidders should include a construction schedule that details equipment lead times, onsite construction work that can be done prior to equipment arriving and installation timelines. 

2. Bidders Site Visit

A site visit of the proposed work will take place as follows:

This site visit is mandatory. Bidders who do not attend will not be able to bid on this project. Bidders must be fully vaccinated to attend the site visit and face mask are mandatory.

  1. Eligible Bidders

Only Bidders pre-qualified by the Health Organization in the following discipline may submit a Tender in response to this ITT:

General Contractor or Mechanical Contractor as Prime.

Qualification Range:

Acute Care Projects greater than $2M  

Discipline:

Electrical Contractor 

(BID Depository Required, see section A.5)

Qualification Range:

Acute Care Projects greater than $100K 

Discipline:

Mechanical Sub-Contractor 

(BID Depository Required, see section A.5) 

Note that if Mechanical Contractor is Prime, BOBS is not needed for Mechanical contractor and Mechanical Contractor will carry electrical as a sub.

  1. Use of Bid Depository

Use of the BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors (BOBS) is required for Electrical and Mechanical trades. 

For bid depository purposes, FM invites trade contractors (as specified in the List of Subcontractors) to use the BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors (BOBS) in accordance with its Rules of Procedure (including bonding unless identified otherwise). Trade contractors will be invited to submit subcontract bids through the BOBS system no later than 3:00 pm two business days prior to the Closing date of this Tender
