Description:

This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for the following project:

In spring of 2020, The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, and Fraser Health announced that an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team will be established in Burnaby BC. Redevelopment plans include relocation of outpatient Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU), from the Cascade building of the Burnaby Hospital campus to a community location.

On November 15, 2020, a fire on the first floor of the Cascade building caused immediate relocation of outpatient MHSU services, temporarily dispersing staff to various locations.

Fraser Health Authority is thereby leasing and improving a new space to re-/co-locate two (2) programs ;

1. Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

2. Burnaby Mental Health Community Services (MHCS)

… from the fire damaged Cascade building at Burnaby Hospital (BUH) to a new community site in Burnaby.

The new MHSU ACT facility will be located on the 1st and 5th floors of 4940 Canada Way, in Burnaby BC.

It is anticipated to be approximately 18,800 square feet, split between two levels, but may vary depending on the actual post-detailed survey site conditions, functional program validation with the client-group at the schematic design phase, and pre-construction findings.

It will be comprised of interview/consult rooms, medication rooms, large storage, communications room, open workstations, private offices, staff breakroom, telehealth, phone-booths, and other related support services as outlined in the Functional Program.

Construction is required to be complete by December 16, 2022 in order to facilitate staff moving, training and orientation for Operational Go-live by 23rd January 2023.
