Purpose
This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for the Sechelt Hospital Emergency Power Upgrade Project. Project Scope: The upgrade to address Sechelt Hospital’s lack of emergency power generator redundancy as required by Canadian Electrical Code and CSA Z32 and to replace the 800A Masterpact breaker feeding panel DV-1.
The hospital currently has two building sections with the older hospital building served by a 500kW Caterpillar emergency generator and transfer switch and the newer building with a 500kW Kohler generator. The emergency power distributions from these generators are completely independent from each other and thus no redundancy exists between the two generators.
The hospital requires the installation of a new emergency power redundant generator to support the two main generators, and a practical and economical engineering solution to interconnect the two generators. The hospital requires a redundant emergency power source to supply vital and delayed vital power for this post disaster facility with an emergency power system that meets building code and best practice standards for hospitals of this type.
