Description:

The Jim Pattison Pavilion South (JPS), construction completed in 2003, is a 19-storey inpatient tower at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), Vancouver, BC, and is owned and operated by Vancouver Coastal Health.  VGH is the largest hospital in British Columbia, offering specialized and tertiary services to adult patients (18 and above) in Vancouver. The hospital accepts patients referred from other parts of the province requiring highly specialized services. Approximately 40% of the hospital's cases come from outside the Vancouver region.   VGH Cardiac Cath Lab is on the ground floor of JPS which provides angiography, angioplasty, and electrophysiology procedures as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implants.

There are three Cath Labs and one Electrophysiology (EP) Lab on JPS Ground floor at VGH.  Cath Lab 3 requires a complete renovation to accommodate the installation of new Cath Lab Diagnostic Imaging equipment as well as to improve clinical work flow within the lab.  This will better support operational functionality and the comfort and safety of staff and patients.  The renovation will include new fixtures, fittings, finishing, equipment, and structural, mechanical and electrical upgrades to the extent required to meet the design requirements and repair any existing issues or deficiencies.

The project will also include replacement of flooring in the adjacent corridor directly outside of Cath Lab 3.
