The project involves an upgrade of the lighting systems at both North and South Hilltop House buildings at Squamish General Hospital. The purpose of the proposed recommendations is as follows: • reduce energy use and operating costs; • provide lighting levels suitable to the tasks performed; • add occupancy controls for reduced lighting in corridors during overnight hour; • improve technology and equipment standardization; and • improve the visual environment and quality of lighting for occupants.
The proposed modifications generally include one of the following actions: • retrofit fluorescent luminaires with solid-state light emitting diode (LED) light engines and dimmable Class 2 drivers; • remove excess quantity of luminaires and reconfigure luminaire locations; • retrofit recessed CFL downlights with dimmable LED retrofit kits; • retrofit surface mounted CFL wall sconces and domes with dimmable LED retrofit kits; • replace stairwell luminaires with new LED bi-level switching luminaires with integrated occupancy controls; • relamp luminaires with screw-based incandescent and CFL lamps with LED screw-based lamps; and replace remaining exterior HID luminaires with equivalent LED lighting systems.
Note: The Bidder must attend the Mandatory site visit in order to submit a bid for this project. Note that due to site Covid-19 limitations to the size of the site tour, there will be 2 walkthrough tours on the same day.
